These Terms of Service ("
Terms") govern your access to and use of the SunpawRated website (available at
sunpawrated.com and
www.sunpawrated.com) and the SunpawRated mobile application (collectively, the “
Service”), operated by
Sunpaw Inc. ("
Sunpaw," “
we,” “
us,” or “
our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least
16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. Your Account
You may need an account to use certain features. Keep your password confidential and your account information accurate. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: - Violate any law or third-party rights - Post unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or misleading content - Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation - Upload malware or interfere with the Service’s operation - Attempt to scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security - Post others’ personal information without consent
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Content & License
You may submit content (e.g., reviews, photos, event listings, map pins, comments) ("
User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Sunpaw a
worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (e.g., formatting), publish, display, and distribute your User Content for operating, improving, and promoting the Service.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable law.
5. Events, Meetups & Sunpaw Alert
The Service may allow users to create events/meetups and to post Sunpaw Alert lost-pet notices.
- No Guarantee / No Vetting. Sunpaw does not vet hosts, attendees, venues, or listings. Participation is at your own risk. - Safety. Exercise caution when meeting people in person. Follow local laws and venue rules. - Not an Emergency Service. Sunpaw Alert is a community tool and not a replacement for emergency services, animal control, or law enforcement.
6. Location Features
Some features use location data (e.g., “find dog-friendly spots near me”). Location is
opt-in and used only when you enable it. Accuracy may vary and maps/pins may be incomplete or outdated. Use your judgment and verify place rules (e.g., dog policies, hours).
7. Rewards / Points (Beta)
We may offer rewards, points, or badges for participation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any rewards program at any time without notice. Rewards have no cash value unless expressly stated.
8. Third-Party Services & Links
The Service may include links to third-party websites, listings, or services. Sunpaw is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Use third-party services at your own risk.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the Sunpaw and SunpawRated names, logos, design elements, software, and content (other than User Content), is owned by or licensed to Sunpaw and is protected by law. Except as expressly permitted, you may not use our trademarks or copy, distribute, or create derivative works of our content.
10. DMCA / Copyright Complaints
If you believe content infringes your copyright, send a notice with: (a) your contact info, (b) identification of the copyrighted work, (c) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location, (d) a statement of good-faith belief, (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act, and (f) your physical or electronic signature. 11. Changes to the Service
We may modify or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time without liability.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including if you violate these Terms or harm the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SUNPAW DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OR AVAILABILITY OF PINS, MAPS, RATINGS, OR LISTINGS.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SUNPAW WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT WILL SUNPAW’S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SUNPAW IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Sunpaw and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
16. Governing Law; Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You and Sunpaw consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
17. Dispute Resolution (Informal First)
Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at
support@sunpawrated.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either party may bring a claim in a court of competent jurisdiction as specified above. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the current version. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

20. Entire Agreement
